Nokia has extended the reach of its Ovi Life Tools information service by introducing it to African customers in Nigeria.
Ovi Life Tools offer information services in emerging markets, covering healthcare, agriculture, education and entertainment. They were already available to customers in India, Indonesia and China.
Nokia said Ovi Life Tools are designed to ‘improve the economic prosperity and quality of life’ of mobile users in emerging markets, and that Nigeria is one of Africa’s fastest growing economies.
Nigerian customers can access healthcare services, such as fitness and disease information; agriculture services, covering market prices on more than 25 commodities and weather updates; education services, designed to increase their general knowledge base; and entertainment services, such as sports results, music and jokes.
The tools are available on the Nokia 2690 and Nokia C1-01, through operators Zain/Airtel and Glo Mobile. They are available country-wide in three languages: English, Hausa and Pidgin English.
