On the 17 and 18 May, we ventured down to the NEC in Birmingham to showcase our product at Utility Week Live. Last year was the event’s official launch under its new name ‘Utility Week Live’, after previously being known as IWEX, and we had heard great reviews. After unfortunately being unable to attend in 2015, we made it our mission to make sure we were at the front of the queue when the doors opened this year.
Overall, the two days were fantastic and we were able to meet with some interesting and inspiring people. It was also extremely valuable speaking with new people to get their feedback on the WorkMobile solution, learning the features they find most useful and the areas that could be further developed. The event provided us with the perfect platform to reach out to new businesses and it was also a great learning experience for our team. It helped us gain a better insight into the utilities industry and the current trends that are taking place. We can now take this knowledge away with us and use it to shape the product’s future innovations.
During the event, our managing director, Dr Moneeb Awan took part in a Water Technology Pitch. He was given a 10-minute time slot in which to pitch the WorkMobile solution and illustrate how it is revolutionising the utilities sector. Moneeb’s presentation focused on WorkMobile’s journey and partnership with utilities companies, such as RPS and United Utilities. Over the past 10 years, this relationship has grown and has helped us to develop the solution to address the sector’s evolving challenges and provide improved processes.
For example, the utilities industry is increasingly benefiting from a mobile workforce, but in order to support this new way of working, businesses within this sector are having to innovate and adopt technology and solutions that can be used whilst out in the field. In fact, innovation is happening across all industries and businesses can no longer afford to ignore disruptive technology, such as WorkMobile.
Moneeb’s presentation received a lot of positive feedback from the audience and it was a great opportunity to showcase the product’s award-winning features and connect with industry leaders. Will we be returning to Utility Week Live next year? Watch this space to find out.
